A coastal retreat · Crete
Slow mornings, warm salt air, and the quiet luxury of doing nothing well.
Book a stayLumen sits on a sheltered stretch of the southern Cretan coast, where the days are unhurried and the light moves slowly across whitewashed stone. We made it for people who arrive carrying too much and need somewhere to set it down.
There is no schedule you must keep. Yoga at sunrise if you wake for it. A long massage in the afternoon. A book, a swim, the sound of water against rock. We simply hold the space, and let the sea air do the rest.
Come empty. Leave lighter.
Every treatment begins with a quiet conversation and ends with time to simply linger. Nothing is rushed. Prices are per person, per session.
A slow full-body massage with warm Cretan olive oil and mineral salt, worked by hand until the body forgets to hold on.
A gentle hatha practice on the terrace as the sun lifts off the water. For every body, every morning, no experience needed.
Sage, thyme and chamomile gathered from the hills above the bay, pressed into the skin through warm cloths and slow hands.
A private circuit of warm mineral bath, herbal steam and cool sea-stone room, paced entirely by you across the afternoon.
A one-to-one session in quiet breathwork and meditation, set on the rocks at the edge of the water. For the restless mind.
Stay three nights or more, and treatments are arranged for you, woven gently into your days.
Twelve rooms, lime-washed and cool, each opening to the sea. Linen, stone, olive wood and very little else, rooms made for sleeping deeply and waking slowly.
Beyond your door: shaded terraces, a saltwater pool, a kitchen that cooks with what the island gives that morning, and a long stretch of coast that belongs, for a while, to you.
Stays from three nights, March through October. We keep Lumen small on purpose, a few rooms, fully attended.
